As per the recent communication, with the reversal of the proposed change of structure, the issue of promotion and relegation has clearly been affected. The Management Board met on Monday evening to discuss this matter. However, there are still a number of variables that have not been resolved. These include some clubs potentially only entering one side next season and potential applications to the WCL that could be considered for 2011.
These issues are being actively investigated and a resolution ideally sought within the next week. With only seven weekends left of the season this is clearly a highly unsatisfactory situation. This being the case I am personally committed to resolving this in a manner that causes the least disruption to clubs and divisions and, where practicable, does not drag clubs into relegations that were not previously on the cards. As such the message to all clubs is that we guarantee that any club finishing in the top 2 in divisions 2 to 6 will be promoted as per normal practice. Outside of that, whilst teams concentrate on winning as many of their remaining fixtures as possible, we will resolve the outstanding variables and communicate with the clubs as soon as possible.
